This story is part of the 2011-12 season of Friday Funday, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6. Performances are at the Playhouse, Friday, May 18, at 9:30 and 10:30 AM, and 1:30 PM. Shows are approximately 45 minutes in length.

(5/10/2012) The Des Moines Community Playhouse has announced an additional title for the upcoming, 2012-13 season: "The Kid Who Ran for President," Mar. 1-17, 2013. This Kate Goldman Children's Theatre show will join previously announced "A Little House Christmas," Nov. 9-Dec. 2, 2012; "The Monster Under the Bed," Jan. 11-27, 2013; and "Seussical," Apr. 26-May 19, 2013.

Presented by FilmScene and the Englert, the screening will be the Iowa premiere of "Crazy Horse." Before the film, Iowa City's own Les Dames du Burlesque will perform an opening-act routine inspired by the film.
